Southport 5, Scarborough 3

Scarborough offered plucky resistance in the First Round replay at Southport, but went down by five goals to three to Southport, who will entertain Swindon Town in the second round of the Cup.

Robinson, the Scarborough goalkeeper, saved his side from a heavier reverse, bringing off many sensational saves, particularly in the first half.

Southport took the lead in 10 minutes through Patrick, and though Lister equalised following a corner, Hawkins restored the advantage.In the second half Patrick added another point for Southport, and in six minutes towards the close four more goals came. Patrick and A. Scott scored for Southport and Rivers and Hardy for the visitors.

The attendance was 7,100 and the receipts £354.
