Southport had to come from behind to win 3-1 at Rossendale in the Co-operative Lancashire Trophy. Southport were one nil down at half time and John Doolan had to be replaced early on with a recurrence of his long term hamstring problems. It was substitute Matty McGinn who masterminded the comeback netting a brace and SSES apprentice Zak Aley scoring on debut. Doolan now appears to be ruled out of the Christmas fixtures while Alan Moogan misses two more matches through suspension.
