Southport and Vauxhall need to try again on Tuesday evening, as neither team was able to take hold of the game in this Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy, in freezing conditions on the Wirral.

Southport did have chances to catch the lead, but with both sides have such recent history with each-other, the hosts cancelled out many ‘Port chances. The most notable chance of the came to Ciaran Kilheeney who headed the ball against the post from a Matty McGinn high corner just after the half-hour mark.

So both teams are in the hat for Monday’s First Round Draw, but need to meet again this coming Tuesday evening, when a result must be achieved.
