AN ENTERTAINING stalemate saw the points shared at The Big Help Stadium.

The visitors had a chance of their own after Will Flint’s touch found Hazeem Bakre behind the home defence but the forward could only rattle the crossbar after Chris Renshaw closed down the chance.
The chances petered out in the first half but just five minutes into the second half Cedric Main found himself through on but Renshaw expertly nullified the chance, smothering the ball away from the forward.
Southport pressured in the final 15 minutes seeing a goalmouth scramble eventually poked away before the ever-dangerous Nat Knight-Percival saw his effort cleared off the line before striking the bar following a corner.With ten minutes to go the 1,200 fans in attendance perked up, providing an end-to-end display but neither side was able to capitalise with the much-needed clinical finishing touch.
With the game finishing level Southport have now played up five goalless draws at home, contributing to their double-digit clean sheet tally for the season.
