Southport are held to a 1-1 draw against a resolute Farsley side in a rather eventless Tuesday night game under the Haig Avenue lights,
This result means both teams finish the evening tied on 10 points and sat in the middle of the table.
Port started the game positively forcing Darryl Ombang into a save after just 5 minutes when Carver skipped away from the defender but his effort was too close to the keeper.
A few half chances came and gone but a lovely chance was fashioned by Danny Lloyd after the midfielder played a defence splitting pass between the lines to Doyle but the full-backs cross was intercepted by the recovering Farsley centre back.
Going into the break goalless called for a response but it was the visitors who struck first after Greenfield was given too much time on the edge of the box the midfielder fired hard and low into the far corner sparking delight for the travelling fans.
Farsley did well to cancel out any response Southport attempted to make but on the 78th minute Philliskirk netted his third of the season after latching onto to a bobbling ball within the six yard box and slotted past Ombang.
Port finished the game pressuring the defensive third of the visitors but there was no way through the green back-line.
