Charles Parker

Full Name: Charles Parker

Charles Parker was the Secretary of Preston North End between 1906 and 1915. During World War I he worked as an accountant in the Civil Service and afterwards he was employed by the Poultry Fanciers Utility Association. In March 1924 Bradford Park Avenue appointed him as their Secretary-Manager but he was forced to withdraw as the Association would not agree to release him at that time.
He did, however, become Southport’s Secretary-Manager on April 21st, 1926. In each of his first two seasons at Haig Avenue the club reached the fourth round of the F.A. Cup and profits of �1,323 (a then record) and �569 resulted. He resigned his position on January 19th, 1929 to take up an appointment as manager of Manchester Central, then members of the Lancashire Combination. During the 1930s it was reported that he had a Sub-Post Office in Wesham, near Kirkham.
