He created a favourable impression after a successful debut against Brentford which was described by manager Ray Henderson as ‘the one silver lining in’ an otherwise depressing performance.

All his four League matches were at Haig Avenue and each was watched by fewer than 1000 spectators.

Released early in 1977-78 when reserve manager Harry McNally introduced new blood, he soon moved into local football but finished when Montrose folded.

Since 1981 he has worked in computer maintenance with the ministry of defence, including spells of three years in Gibraltar and more recently four in Germany.

He played football for forces teams in both locations. Now based at bath, he currently lives in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
