SOUTHPORT remain winless in the league since the end of October.

A lively start saw Jack Stafford creating two chances down the left with dangerous crosses landing in the box with a yellow shirt just failing to apply the clinical touch required.

After ten minutes the play slowed down but it was the home side with the notable chances with Jamie Proctor forcing goalkeeper Marcus Garnham to make a save.

A flurry of chances came Southport’s way after the break, concluding with a scramble in the six-yard box which was eventually cleared behind by a red shirt.

A golden opportunity to take the lead came for the Sandgrounders in the 65th minute when Proctor directed a cross towards Luke Burgess who was able to spin Kieran Morphew before seeing his dangerous strike just sail over the bar.

The visitors had a chance to steal all three points with the final kick of the game as substitute Seth Chambers seems to have time to fire past Chris Renshaw but the keeper launched himself towards the ball and did enough to keep it out.

Another stalemate at the Big Help Stadium mean its back-to-back clean sheets for the home side, however it leaves Southport sitting 16th in the table.
