THE second meeting of the sides in a week saw Southport follow up with a comfortable win after a local cup tie also resulted in a win for the Sandgrounders.
The first-half was a period of total domination for the home side with plenty of chances being created and the only surprise was the score was only 2-0 to Southport at the break.
It was Luke Burgess with both of the goals. The first came in the 13th minute after a mixup between Daniel Atherton and Evan Gumbs allowed Burgess to slot home from close range.
David Morgan and Josh Williams could have increased the lead before Burgess was once again on hand to finish from close range after great interplay down the right hand side between Sam Minihan and Morgan saw the ball fired in Burgess made no mistake.
It was more of the same in the second period with the visitors seeing very little of the ball.
Former Port player Josh Miles did pose a threat on the left-hand side for Warrington but nobody was able to support him in a lacklustre Warrington display.
The dangerous Sonny Hilton put the icing on the cake for Southport with a delightful finish after a cute pass by Burgess put him through to fire across Atherton and into the goal.
