An attractive and very neatly filled-in fixture card for season 32/33. Issued with compliments by J Booth, Confectioners of Sussex Road. Ironically, I remember the shop from visiting my grandparents for holidays as a child, and would accompany them to purchase bread and cakes. They lived at 194 Sussex Road, and were avid supporters (my grandfather had attended Southport’s first game at Ash Lane with his father as a three year old, and went to all home matches and many away into the late seventies, when he succumbed to ill health). It used to have a green frontage, which I guess ties in with the green (now faded) fixture card. Sadly, along with many corner shops, it disappeared c.1990 and is now a house.
