Southport picked up their first victory at Morecambe in seven years on Tuesday night. Lee Ellison set Southport on their way five minutes after half time chipping goalkeeper Banks from the right side of the penalty box.
Ellison then set up young Ged Courtney who put Southport 2-0 ahead with just five minutes to go.
Andy Milner grabbed a consolation goal in the last minute heading in Kenny Takano’s cross, but on reflection the result was fair.
